Newly hired Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie (left) already has the highly critical fans in Lexington smiling. On Friday, blue chip recruit Darius Miller announced he will sport Kentucky blue in 2008. Miller was one of the top undecided seniors in the country prior to his verbal to Gillispie. While the former Texas A&M coach had much to do with Miller's recruitment, the Wildcats' hiring of Illinois assistant coach Tracy Webster sealed the deal for Kentucky. Webster was courting Miller while working under Bruce Webber and developed a strong relationship with the prized recruit...conveniently, Webster heads to Kentucky and Miller isn't too far behind.
I watched Miller first hand at RBK U and it was clear why he has been touted as one of the best 25 players in the land. He is not as well rounded and refined as many players, but he is wildly athletic and has a NBA frame at 6-foot-6, 185-pounds. The tools are there and Miller could very well develop into an All-SEC caliber player.

As predicted...Roy Williams and Phil Jackson completely overshadowed Texas Western's 1966 National Championship team.

The Atlantic 10 has released its 2007-08 prospectus...now if they can write up a decent television contract...we'll be in business.
Regardless of what the prospectus says, the story of the season in the A10 will be Rick Majerus' impact on on St. Louis. For a closer look at the Billikens, check out a preview from collegehoopsnet.com.

Adam Zagoria of zagsblog delivered the latest on Tyreke Evans of American Christian Academy in Chester and Nova is still in good shape...
"TYREKE EVANS, American Christian: Evans recently had a positive visit at Seton
Hall, and his brother Reggie said UConn is up next. We talked recently to
someone whose opinion we highly respect and he said he could easily see Evans
choosing Seton Hall over Villanova, Memphis and Louisville for these
reasons...It's close enough to home that his brothers and mother could stay
close and watch him. He would join the team for its second season at the
Prudential Center, and he could make it "his" arena by being a star. He is
exactly what Seton Hall needs, a bonified 20-25 ppg scorer, who would
automatically make the Pirates a real threat because the other players wouldn't
have to do too much but could still excel playing alongside him."
